Youth Education

Platte River recognizes that education is a foundation for personal growth and supports education of various kinds directed at children in kindergarten through 12th Grade.

• Employees provide guided tours of the Rawhide Energy Station and in-class presentations on electricity generation and related issues. They also meet with area high school students to introduce them to career opportunities in the electric utility industry.
• Platte River cosponsors fundraising events held by the following non-profit organizations:
  • The Boys and Girls Clubs of Larimer County provides a place, people and programs to help kids develop to their full potential.
  • Team Fort Collins is dedicated to preventing the use of alcohol and drugs among youth through education and interactive events.
  • The Fort Collins Museum of Art provides educational tours and art classes for children five through 14 years of age.
